Welcome To Hope Academy

Hope Academy, a public charter school, was founded in 1998 by Bishop Andrew Merritt, Pastor of the Straight Gate International Church on the tenants of academic excellence, student responsibility and parental partnership.  With these tenants, our goal is that every child will be equipped to be productive within their communities.  Hope Academy has a healthy academic environment  in which all children can learn.  We pride ourselves on providing every child the opportunity to explore and develop to their fullest potential.  Beyond academic excellence, our success is founded upon treating each child with the highest of priority.

In-School Tutorial

Hope Academy offers in-school tutorial sessions for our students. We have highly qualified tutorial/instructional aids on staff to service all grades from K-8.

Healthy Children

We are doing our part to encourage healthy eating habits in our student population. A Wellness Plan is sent home every year for parents to discuss healthy eating habits with their children. We suggest for parents to start small by providing a nutritious breakfast in order to change poor eating habits.

Progress Reports

If your child is not maintaining the educational standards for his/her grade level they should receive a weekly progress report. See the homeroom teacher if you have any concerns.
